Regrets

I had not known early on
my health will be dependent
on what into my mouth went;

I had not known early on
how to spend my money
and my time wisely;

I had not known early on
my habits will be
hard to change after forty;

I had not known early on
the world owes me nothing
that I ought to make a living;

I had not known early on
the folly of not listening
to wise advice for my taking;

I had not known early on
the sacrifices my parents made
just to raise their kid;

I had not known early on
the helpful and inspiring part
of the Bible from the very start;

I had not known early on
there is no better exercise than
reaching down and helping people up;

I had not known early on
that saying "I love you" to someone
should be done as often as I can;

I had not known early on
that letting go is an act of love
much better than holding on;

I had not known early on
that honesty is the only policy
when dealing with everybody;

I had not known early on
that life is a mirror reflection
of all my thoughts and emotion;

Had I known early
the things I knew today
I could have been a better me!
