The Jordan

A river in Asia, Southwest,
mentioned in the Bible 200 times, I guess,
miracles happened at the Jordan,
where John baptized the Son of Man.

Jordan River drops 75 kilometers away,
into Lake Hula which is swampy,
exiting 25 kilometers to the Sea of Galilee,
it meanders as it enters the Dead Sea.

The waters of the Jordan River,
are extremely important resources,
sources of conflict among dry lands of the area,
the nations of Lebanon, Palestines, Israel and Syria.

Once a very heavy axe head,
is said to have floated,
on the Jordan's calm surface,
the body of water the Almighty bless.

The ancient Israelites traversed it,
Leprosy sufferers bathe in it,
Elijah went to heaven after crossing it,
Jesus Christ was baptized in it.

The true miracle of the Jordan, however,
is providing life-giving waters,
for several thousand years,
it quenches people's thirst!
